I really enjoyed this wonderfully touching story of a small town girl who after great loss and heartbreak, slowly finds her way back to her friends, her family and most importantly, her faith. I was drawn to the characters and found them to be not only believable and relatable, but charming and loveable too! The Author does an excellent job of conveying the grief, heartbreak, and gut-wrenching spiritual journey that Leslie is on, without being depressing or preachy. The people of this small town are brought to life with such clarity, that you almost expect to run into one of them at church or the grocery store. The reader experiences a myriad of emotions and moments, from tender and poignant, to laugh out loud funny! I truly hope this is the first book in a series, as I would enjoy the opportunity to take another trip back to Belt Creek! I highly recommend this book.Product details

The Last Leg A Belt Creek Novel edition by Amy Beth Dobbins Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
My wife loved this book! She said it really captures the best parts of growing up in a small town. Such an inspiring story of faith, family, and friends.
I just finished reading this wonderful book! A very touching and inspirational story!
This novel was the author's first masterpiece and that has a dual meaning as in it was such and amazing tribute as well to our Master and her faith! It was as inspiring as it was entertaining and absorbing. I can't wait for the sequel!
A truly enjoyable read. The story-line kept you engaged, and the deeper truths of the plot stay with you after you have finished.
I LOVE this story. Looking forward to reading more books by Amy!
Two childhood friends who have suffered loss and pain find each other again. Leslie is running from her pain and guilt, from T.J., and most of all, from God. A beautiful spiritual journey and romance.
It is rare to find a book these days that tells an uplifting, inspirational story without beating you over the head with "religion." Ms. Dobbins has managed to walk the fine line that does just that. While the story is certainly faith-based, the author weaves faith into the story as most of us have experienced it, especially when growing up in a small town. Faith is simply part of our experience, and thus, informs our decisions, thoughts and actions, just as it is for the heroine.
Leslie Smith has returned to her small hometown after losing her husband. She struggles to find hope, but her childhood friend, T.J. evokes feelings she has tried to put away out of guilt and loyalty to her dead husband. Leslie finds herself literally running from her feelings and from T.J., struggling to figure out how to move forward with a life she never expected. While reconnecting with her roots and with others who have experienced their own types of loss, Leslie is forced to learn how to move forward while respecting her past.
Amy Beth Dobbins has managed to write a faith-based novel like few others can. I look forward to the next offering from Belt Creek.
